END

The style of our show is going to be informative, persuasive and the presenter/guests will be very enthusiastic. The show will be based around the subject of both video games and films. In addition, our music genre will include diverse chart tracks with the inclusion of a classic video game track.

This show will be tailored for a target audience of young adults, video game enthusiasts and film buffs. Songs in our show will be cut to around 2-3 minutes long, as discussion time is needed for our show.

Influence:

Trevor Nelson is a big influence to me for radio as when I listen to him on BBC Radio 1Xtra he is very chilled out and relaxed whilst broadcasting and he does not try to be to entertaining, he is just himself.

I don’t listen to radio regularly but out of all the broadcasters I’ve listened to Trevor Nelson is my favorite and I aspire to be like him in my radio show, chilled out, relaxed and to be myself.

Our show will have a chilled out atmosphere and the content will be very entertaining consisting of discussions of new video game releases, film releases and the inclusion of some music both chart and game music.

Here is an example of his show.

Presenter: Sammy

Presenter 2: Spencer

Jingles:

For the jingles we used zoom recorders to record Spencer’s voice as he said phrases such as “Welcome to LGC FM”, “Welcome Back to LGC FM” and “See you next time on LGC FM”. I then suggested ideas to make the jingles with a certain tune to give it a video game vibe and Spencer came up with a really unique idea of creating them on his keyboard. We made many tunes but we selected the ones we all thought were good. We edited the jingles using both Garage Band (for Spencer to use his keyboard) and then we used Soundtrack Pro to produce the final product.

Schedule:

10/11/16 – Rehearsal

15/11/16 – Final Product

First Rehearsal:

The first rehearsal did not go amazingly, we had some technical errors e.g. missing headphones and unedited jingles. However the overall performance of all three of us was very good, in my opinion i would say that Spencer and Sammy would take to long conversing which conflicted with times, i also feel like i could have spoken a bit more i felt as if i did contribute speaking wise. So i the next rehearsal i need to make sure i get more involved and not let Spencer and Sammy do most of the conversing. Also Sammy forgot to mute the microphones whilst we played the music so if we coughed for example it would have still come through. I feel like we could improve by getting more familiar with the equipment in the studio to prevent further mistakes, also we need to improve on time management e.g. how long we talk for, music times etc.

Second Rehearsal:

The second rehearsal was a lot better the first in my opinion, we had longer time, no technical difficulties and we were a lot more organised. One of the faults was that the presenter, Sammy kept messing up the microphones for example; he forgot to turn them back on multiple times and he was also very slow in doing so. However i feel like i spoke way too much giving both Sammy and Spencer very little speaking time. A thing that was better though was that this rehearsal was 26 minutes long instead of 15 minutes. In addition i believe that both Me and Spencer gave very good explanations/opinions on each topic.

Risk Assessment:

Risks consist of if someone where to bring a liquid into the study and obviously spill it which could very badly damage the equipment. To prevent this either do not bring any liquid into the studio or put a sports cap on the bottle so it does not spill.

Another risk would be poor cable management leading to someone tripping on the wire and injuring themselves, to prevent this we should be careful of where we step if the cables are loose to put them into a place where no one else can trip on them.
